Information we collect
An initial enquiry may include your name, contact details, the type of matter, organisations involved, relevant deadlines, a summary of what has happened, the outcome you seek and documents you choose to provide. Those documents may contain information about other people and may include sensitive or special-category information.
Why we use it
We use enquiry information to assess whether Wolfe & Black can assist, identify urgency and scope, review relevant documents, communicate with you about the enquiry, prevent abuse of the intake service and, where an instruction is accepted, support the agreed case-preparation work.
Before you upload documents
Only provide documents you are entitled to provide and that are reasonably relevant to the enquiry. Avoid sending unrelated personal information. If a document contains information about another person, consider whether the whole document is necessary.
How documents are stored
Documents submitted through the secure intake are stored in private cloud storage. They are not placed in a public bucket and are not intended to be publicly browsable. Technical safeguards are used to restrict direct public access.
How long information is kept
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for assessment, administration, accepted work, record-keeping, dispute handling and applicable legal or regulatory requirements. Enquiries that do not proceed should not be retained indefinitely.
Sharing information
Information may be processed by service providers used to host, secure or operate the website and case systems. Wolfe & Black does not publish case documents merely because they have been submitted. If an authorised professional or other third party needs to be involved in a matter, information is only shared where there is an appropriate basis to do so.
Your choices and rights
You may ask what personal information Wolfe & Black holds about you, request correction of inaccurate information, or raise a concern about how information is being handled. Whether a particular request can be fulfilled depends on the circumstances and applicable data-protection law.
Initial enquiries are not accepted instructions
Submitting information does not mean Wolfe & Black has accepted a matter, created a solicitor-client relationship, or assumed responsibility for a court, tribunal, complaint, regulatory or appeal deadline.
