EHCP timescales matter.
Where an EHC needs assessment leads to a plan, the statutory process is generally expected to conclude within 20 weeks, subject to specified exceptions. Parents and young people can also challenge certain local-authority decisions, including refusal to assess, refusal to issue a plan, disputed provision and the named placement.
