Start with each disputed receipt
Identify the amount, date, account, payer and prosecution assertion. A general explanation is not a substitute for a transaction-by-transaction record.
Corroborate the provenance
Collect bank statements, payslips, sale documents, gift correspondence, business records and witnesses where appropriate. Record gaps rather than inventing certainty.
Separate ownership from possession
A person's access to an asset does not itself prove beneficial ownership. Prepare a chronology and document schedule for the instructed solicitor to assess.
Prepare a solicitor-ready pack
Provide a numbered schedule, source references, disputed points and outstanding disclosure questions. Legal arguments and court filings remain for authorised practitioners.
This guide is general information and does not replace advice from an appropriately authorised solicitor.
